Market Research for US / Canada Cisco Networking Academies for 174,000 Students

When Cisco Networking Academy needed to better understand the changing higher education landscape in the U.S., to support its staff and to help guide them through change, we designed and executed market research and analysis program, in 90 days, leading to advisory for its national Networking Academy and sales teams. The secondary research revealed for decision makers:
  • 15 major indicators in the changing U.S. higher education landscape
  • Defined new market segments for IT, communications, and engineering institutions 
  • Identified multiple new institutional types for U.S. higher education
  • Gave "hands-on" outline for sales training and messaging
  • Identified key metrics and evaluation criteria for customized program
  • Summarized research in three parts: narrative, new national charts and new mapping of high potential market segments, including introduction to needs based segmentation.

Broadening Participation (BP) in STEM for US Department of Defense

When the Strategic Diversity Campaign at DoD sought research and analyses for its data driven approach to increasing the involvement of women and underrepresented groups in STEM careers for both military and civiian workforce, they choose, AJA to facilitate:
  • Design a Project Charter covering DoD wide workforce;
  • Create a Meta-analyses for STEM research from 2011-2015;
  • Building Manager Toolkits to facilitate career advancements; 
  • Facilitate decision making among military and 16 service agencies;
  • Design a pilot to execute the changes; and,
  • Establish new metrics senior leaders to evaluate performance.

AJA & AT&T ASPIRE Mentoring Academy at Rutgers University

AJA Selected as NJ City Champion for AT&T ASPIRE Mentoring Academy

When AT&T ASPIRE Mentoring Academy asked Dr. Allison Jackson to serve as the NJ City Champion to recruit, orient, and engage local at risk high school students for STEM careers, the AJA team launched a statewide effort, landing 10 high schools, 200 students, and matching 200 mentors and parents.  The effort resulted in the NJ program being rated #1 in the nation.  The results included

  • Analysis of the AT&T ASPIRE Mentoring program and promotion of 20 recommendations for change;
  • List of potential funding partners and community supporters for each high school;
  • Analysis of Student Learning, Behaviors, and Mobile Technologies
  • Where the jobs and skills will be in 5, 10, and 20 years ahead. Identified Mega-Trends with impact on global, national, state, and Centenary region levels, that led to new partnerships for the college, other non-profits and government agencies.
  • Engagement of students in hybrid online and face-to-face environments
  • Creation of a new program called 241 that included students and their parents
